Dhanam Foundation Inc. was co-founded by siblings Anish and Aashrita Kaza in 2024, to inspire philanthropy within their community.
The Foundation’s journey began with Anish’s simple yet powerful idea: combining his love for pizza (his comfort food), his interest in technology and passion for giving. This vision led to the creation of Pizza for a Purpose, an intuitive app that enables restaurants, grocery stores and individual donors (through selecting a pizza restaurant of their choice in the app) to donate pizza to charities directly making generosity more accessible and impactful. He teamed up with Aashrita to help bring the idea to life.

To foster a culture of giving, deeply rooted in the values of ‘Dhanam’. In Sanskrit ‘Dhanam’ embodies the spirit of compassion and generosity.
Pizza for a Purpose
Our user-friendly smartphone app, Pizza for a Purpose, facilitates the donation of pizzas from restaurants and grocery stores to local charities. Our platform streamlines the donation process, allowing restaurants to specify pickup times, quantities of pizzas to donate, and select nearby charity organizations to receive their contributions. Upon charity pickup, the restaurants receive a tax-deductible receipt.
The alarming statistics on national food insecurity, affecting over 47 million people in the U.S., including 1 in 5 children, highlight the urgency of our mission. This problem is just too big to ignore and requires collective action. We invite you to join us in our mission to combat food insecurity and bridge the gap to self-sustenance for those in need. Together, we can create a brighter and a more nourished future for all.

Our Approach
Pizza for a Purpose connects pizza restaurants and grocery stores with local charities, making it easy to donate pizzas through our app and help feed those in need. Check our App to view the statistics of our donations.
The app is available to download on the App Store and Google Play Store. Community members can also download the app and make a tax-deductible donation, with the pizzas directed to a participating charity of their choice.

Pizza for a Purpose was founded on a vision with the desire to help others by a young man that came into my restaurant in its initial stages in 2023. I was and am still very much committed to the project because I believe in the end result of the app. This app is easy to use. We restaurant owners are busy, with little time left for anything else. This app allows us to plan ahead and schedule donations . I strongly encourage pizza restaurants and grocery stores to join and support our community. Besides a tax benefit on the donations, there is also a great personal satisfaction to help those in need. We live in the greatest country in the world and seeing hungry children is absolutely devastating. We must do our part to better the future of these children and families.
Pizza For A Purpose is a great way to give back to the community. This app makes it easy to donate Pizzas on your schedule and there is no need to deliver the donations, as the pizzas are picked up from your shop.
